Last chapter we saw the issue of pseudo-Aboriginality get more attention, while so-called Guringai Tribal Link managed to produce 2 General Reports in one year!

The NSW Department of Aboriginal Affairs, confirms that the Office of the Registrar of the Aboriginal Land Right Act 1983 (ALRA) have acknowledged that the word Guringai does not pertain to the East Coast. This means not in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, and certainly not in the Central Coast.
“I believe we need to heal now as a nation, become proud that on our shores we hold the oldest living culture on earth and all become custodians of that culture and the country in which we live.” Bradley Twynham – GuriNgai devotee.
At least this David Brent(alike) isn’t claiming to be a descendant of Bungaree.
Oh FFS.
GurinGai Man? Another stealth rebrand? Sloppy and/or bogus.
Of course it gets worse from there, when it’s discovered the GuriNgai are not the first time Brad Twynham has ‘accidently’ become entwinned with ‘other people’ who soon become investigated, and prosecuted, for financial crimes including misrepresentation and fraud.

We find self proclaimed ‘Uncle’ and ‘Elder’ Neil Evers, along with Guringai Tribal Link member Dennis Jones trespassing on Aboriginal owned property in order to claim it as there own.
Finally it seems non-Aboriginal people are starting to pay attention.

Another email leak! This time from Tracey Howie, letting a select few know of an upcoming opportunity, that “only requires those that have a true cultural connection to the Westleigh area.“
The resulting 83 comments on this post include a group of Guringai Tribal Link members abusing and insulting genuine Darug Aboriginal People. It has now come to light that the threats did not end there.
The following voicemail message was left on the phone of a family member of mine, a Darug grandmother, who had the temerity to ask questions of the claims made by Tracey Howie:
I’ve done my best to transcribe the message, phonetically where necessary:
“This is Tracey. Ahh, I’m not very impressed with the ahh social media slandering that there is of me.
Let me tip you, this one, coming at you straight right now.
You want something to say about me or to me, you bring it right to me, Girlfriend!
Or I will get on an aeroplane, and I’ll come to Queensland and come and visit ya. I do have your address. Don’t push my buttons.’
I’m not going to speculate on who this ‘Tracey‘ may be, but she does have a very distinctive nasal twang, and is quick to incorrectly throw around the word ‘slander,’ and is particularly defensive of the fraudulent claims of the GuriNgai.
Oh, and she is currently under investigation.
But where were the GuriNgai?

Meet Paul Craig.
Despite holding neither Membership or any other position with Guringai Tribal Link, Guringai Tribal Link Aboriginal Corporation, Guringai Tours, Guringai Tours Pty Ltd, Guringai and Awabakal Pty Ltd, and of the multitude of interconnected corporate entities that make up this pseudo-Aboriginal group, Paul has very recently become another public face of this operation.
Paul Craig is a regular contributor to local Central Coast Facebook pages, claiming to be a Traditional Owner, a Guringai man, and a descendant of Bungaree.
Supposedly progressive non-Aboriginal people are jumping to welcome supposedly Aboriginal folk who happen to look and sound exactly like themselves.
Followers of the many ‘colorful characters’ in the area with blatantly self-serving agendas, and groups such as Coast Environmental Alliance (CEA) have rallied to Guringai Tribal Link membership, and uncritically accept every unproven and disproven claim they regurgitate, because it ‘feels’ right to them in the moment.
Recently Paul was featured speaker representing Indigenous viewpoints at a Public Forum regarding “the Voice” repeating the same unproven, disproven, and culturally harmful claims started by Warren Whitfield back in 2003.
Paul is not a descendant of Bungaree; he is a simple man who has been taken in by the most unlikely of ‘charasmatic’ leaders in the form of Tracey-Lee Howie, who is also not related to Bungaree, directly or otherwise. If there were such a thing in Aboriginal Culture as the frankly Nazi sounding “Bloodline Custodians” (which thankfully there isn’t) it would not be these people.
Publication of an Updated Membership of Guringai Tribal Link Aboriginal Corporation. Not only is Dennis Foley finally off the books, but now Laurie Bimson and Tony Bimson are nowhere to be seen! With Laurie Bimson having been a member and Director of Guringai Tribal Link for many years up to this point; it’s disappointing that these people can’t be relied on to give a credible explanation for what is going on.
I’m sorry ‘Aunty’ Colleen Fuller; Warren Whitfield and Tracey Howie have lied to you.
A Whale Welcome to Ocean Country event, which included a traditional smoking ceremony by Garigal elder Uncle Neil.
The Garigal, a saltwater people from the Northern Beaches, traditionally ranged from Dee Why Lagoon north to Broken Bay and west to Terrey Hills, encompassing Pittwater, Cowan Creek and upper Middle Harbour Creek. Their clan totem is the whale.
“Neil” is neither Garigal, nor an Uncle, an Elder, and certainly no keeper of knowledge, Cultural or otherwise.
