Chapter 7 2017 – 2018

Last chapter we saw voids were filled when the Aboriginal Heritage Office sought to correct the misperceptions and falsehood propagated by Mr Warren Whitfield, Tracey-Lee Howie, and the rest.

Tracey-Lee gave unconvincing testimony in her area of expertise: Indigenous.

Another corporate entity was born in the form of Awabakal and Guringai Pty Ltd, meaning we now have Guringai Tribal Link, Guringai Link Aboriginal Corporation, Awabakal and Guringai Pty Ltd, Guringai Tours, Guringai Tours Pty Ltd, and Wannangini Pty Ltd, and Warren Whitfield’s now defunct Fire Stick Tours http://www.firesticktours.com.au./

Senior Elder…

How did the Whitfields get to Australia? As Barry Allan notes in his family story Black Sheep and Gold Diggers, “Bill never mentioned that his own father had been a convict as well.

It was socially unacceptable to have criminals in the family, and most families who had one invented all sorts of fanciful stories to explain how their ancestor came to Australia. These stories survived, often being embellished over the years, until the stigma faded and the truth was eventually discovered generations later.”

It seems that in 2017, Uncle Neil Evers may have been contemplating jumping ship as former GuriNgai director Dennis Foley had only a handful of years earlier.
Fortunately the ‘jumping’ is a metaphor only, and the gentleman did not actually have to shift their body in the slightest, only the name they decided to call the area around it.

The Awabakal and Guringai native title claim from Maitland to Hornsby was discontinued by the applicants on 28 June 2017.

Members of so-called Guringai Tribal Link Aboriginal Corporation, and the public are told by Guringai Leadership that the case was just too darned expensive.

Astute readers will recognise the following frank admission by Tracey-Lee Howie back in 2009 may be the cause:

But that’s only part of the story.

Very unusual.

To cut through the legalese, the Awabakal and GuriNgai group made a Native Claim, and were unable to provide sufficient evidence to support their claim. When the Awabakal and GuriNgai group were advised the Attorney Generals Office would be investigating the claim were it to continue, the Awabakal and GuriNgai group withdrew their own claim faster than regular Court processes allow for, and the judge has to make a special exception to allow them to discontinue after wasting everybody’s time and resources.

This is how the Awabakal and GuriNgai group’s Native Title gambit ended; but is very different from the tales spun by Tracey Howie that somehow they achieved anything other than a truly embarrassing display of hubris and ineptitude.

“I am instructed that the Attorney General decision is that a non-native settlement is not available in this matter at this time and that should the claim not be withdrawn, a litigated outcome would be sought. “.

“A non-native title settlement is not considered to be appropriate in the present circumstances”

At a Case Management Conference before Registrar Stride on 29 May 2017, the solicitor for the Crown Solicitors Office made it patently clear that the State was uninterested in discussing the matter further.”

Tracey Howie continues to push disproven falsehoods, in the guise of ‘Cultural Heritage Assessment.’ This is merely one example of this propaganda push.

When we met, Uncle (Laurie) told me how he couldn’t get initiated. All the Elders of his Mob had passed. He took me to Special places where the used to dance and make love to the mother with their hands feet and voices.

It wasn’t long before I had to call him to appease the Ancestors of the land.

He told me that he could not see or feel. He didn’t know about the Grandmothers or Fathers that walked with him. But I did. I saw them in his Spirit. I watched as he could go into places that I could not. I saw the ancestors cry through him as he transferred the genocide through his body.

Warren Whitfield said ALL the old people were gone in 2001. ‘Uncle’ Laurie said they were ‘all gone’ in 2013. The Guringai continue the narrative that they are the now the ‘tribes’ Elders, the Senior People.

Date: 22 October

Bungaree to be commemorated at Pearl Beach.

This work by an amateur historical society features segments of Warren Whitfield’s false narrative.
